Conservatives gained two seats from Liberal Democrats: one in Dorset CC and one in West Dorset. Conservatives also gained a seat from Lincolnshire Independents in North Kesteven. Conservatives held seats in Boston, Hertfordshire CC and Lichfield.

Labour held a seat in Torfaen.

Conservatives gained a seat from an Independent (elected UKIP) in Tendring. Conservatives held seats in East Northants, Lancashire CC, Northamptonshire CC and West Oxfordshire.
