CCA Local Government Conference
Due to restrictions, we had to hold this year’s CCA Local Government Conference online, so we’re looking forward to heading back to the Oxford Belfry in Oxfordshire for the 2022 CCA Conference!
Taking place on 25th - 26th February 2022, it is a fantastic opportunity for networking, training, and to hear from speakers including members of the Cabinet, Ministers from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities, and senior councillors.
Once again, we’ll be offering our popular all-inclusive CCA Member Full Package, which includes access to the whole conference, accommodation at the Oxford Belfry, drinks reception and three-course dinner, lunches, and refreshment breaks. This pass costs just £195. Furthermore, we know that some councillors prefer to attend Conference as a group and as such we offer a group booking discount for the all-inclusive package. We have several day pass options available, too, which start from just £40.
For more information, including on how to book your ticket, please visit the CCA Local Government Conference webpage.
From Cllr to MP Events
From Cllr to MP is a series of virtual discussions between CCA Members and those Members of Parliament who were councillors before being elected. We launched the programme with a number of sessions meeting those in the 2019 Parliamentary Intake. Building on their success, we're really excited to be announcing our second phase of discussions, bringing together Members of the 2015 and 2017 Parliamentary Intakes and councillors, candidates and those interested in local government.
The programme has helped to act as a further bridge between the Parliamentary Party and councillors, as well as giving the latter a chance to hear about MPs' current work in Parliament. Sessions are open to all CCA Members, and if you would like to attend one or all of the events, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

CCA Training Sessions - Presentations and Materials Available
The CCA has always been proud of its events programme; a key aspect of our membership offering. In fact, in response to the restrictions that were put in place as the situation around the pandemic developed, the number of events we have held over the last year has continued to grow.
Whilst we always try to find times for sessions that will work for both presenters and our Members, we also understand that not all of you will be able to tune into every session. That’s why we endeavour to upload all of the relevant materials and presentations from each workshop onto the Training Resources section of the CCA Member Area, when the content allows. We would therefore like to remind you that we currently have presentations on the page from our Autumn, Opposition, and New Councillor Training Programmes, including on Writing to Win, Getting Started on Facebook, and Virtual House Meetings.
If there are particular areas that you feel you would benefit from receiving training on, then please do get in touch with the CCA Team.
