CCA Councillor Development Weekend 2021
We're excited to see as many CCA Members as possible at this year's popular CCA Councillor Development Weekend is taking place on 20th - 21st November at Belton Woods hotel in Grantham.
Attendees can enjoy a packed programme full of sessions focused on improving your skills in your important role as both a Conservative councillor and a campaigner. It is also a great opportunity to meet with fellow councillors from across the country. Many have attended with group colleagues as part of a team building weekend.
All CCA Members are welcome to attend and it will be beneficial for those looking to broaden their ideas, learn more and engage effectively with residents. There will be sessions relevant to those both in control and opposition; speakers will include councillors and Party staff all of whom have a wealth of campaigning and local government experience.
The popular all-inclusive CCA Member Full Package, which includes access to the whole training weekend, accommodation at the hotel, drinks reception and three-course dinner, as well as all lunches and refreshments, costs just £125. We are also offering a special rate for those councillors elected in May 2021, and those looking to book with colleagues. Day pass options start from just £25. From Cllr to MP Events
From Cllr to MP is a series of virtual discussions between CCA Members and those Members of Parliament who were councillors before being elected. We launched the programme with a number of sessions meeting those in the 2019 Parliamentary Intake. Building on their success, we're really excited to be announcing our second phase of discussions, bringing together Members of the 2015 and 2017 Parliamentary Intakes and councillors, candidates and those interested in local government.
The programme has helped to act as a further bridge between the Parliamentary Party and councillors, as well as giving the latter a chance to hear about MPs' current work in Parliament. Sessions are open to all CCA Members, and if you would like to attend one or all of the events, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tuesday 28th September, 4:00pm - Scott Mann MP, North Cornwall

CCA Training Sessions - Presentations and Materials Available
The CCA has always been proud of its events programme; a key aspect of our membership offering. In fact, in response to the restrictions that were put in place as the situation around the pandemic developed, the number of events we have held over the last year has continued to grow.
Whilst we always try to find times for sessions that will work for both presenters and our Members, we also understand that not all of you will be able to tune into every session. That’s why we endeavour to upload all of the relevant materials and presentations from each workshop onto the Training Resources section of the CCA Member Area, when the content allows. We would therefore like to remind you that we currently have presentations on the page from our Autumn, Opposition, and New Councillor Training Programmes, including on Writing to Win, Getting Started on Facebook, and Virtual House Meetings.
If there are particular areas that you feel you would benefit from receiving training on, then please do get in touch with the CCA Team.
