Opposition Training Programme
Following May's location elections, we’ve been working with CCHQ’s Campaign Team to put together a co-ordinated programme of sessions designed especially for colleagues in Opposition and No Overall Control. The programme, made up initially of three sessions, will cover a number of themes and topics aimed at getting colleagues thinking politically and using various tools to effectively manage being in Opposition, holding their administration to account, and perhaps taking control one day.
Our next session is taking place next on Wednesday 21st July, with our final workshop in the programme happening on Wednesday 28th July, both events will begin at 6:00pm. If you've not attended subsequent sessions - don't worry! We recap the main points of each previous session.
To book your place at Wednesday’s session or for the remainder of the programme, please email CCA@Conservatives.com.
From Cllr to MP Events
We are excited to welcome a number of the 2019 Parliamentary intake, who are either still or were councillors at the time of their election in December, to talk to CCA Members. We'll be exploring their experiences in local government and how these have helped to shape their work in Parliament since. If you have a question on getting more involved, what it takes to become an MP, or to hear what they have been doing since they were elected then please do come along!
Robert Largan MP, High Peak, 27th July 4:30pm.
We are currently in the process of adding further dates to the programme following a pause over August. Please do continue to check back for updates.
Conservative Party Conference 2021
We're looking forward to this year's Conservative Party Conference with yet another full programme of events, including our usual Drinks Reception and Q&A with the MHCLG Ministerial Team, as well as a number of new events for this year! Further details will be circulated in due course, so please do look out for those, and we hope to see as many of you as possible at Conference!
