CCA-CCHQ Campaign Training Workshops
Following on from our successful Autumn Training programme, we have been working with councillors and CCHQ to provide a new all-encompassing suite of virtual training. As part of the virtual training we have the following sessions lined up:
Campaigning as a Local Councillor, Wednesday 24 February, 2:00pm
Virtual House Meetings and Your Campaign, Thursday 4 March, 2:00pm
Local Government Nominations, Tuesday 9th March, 2:00pm
Please continue to check back and refer to our regular updates and emails as we add more training workshops to the programme. If you're unable to attend, please get in touch with the Team, who may be able to share any relevant materials.
From Cllr to MP Events
We are excited to welcome a number of the 2019 Parliamentary intake, who are either still or were councillors at the time of their election in December, to talk to CCA Members. We'll be exploring their experiences in local government and how these have helped to shape their work in Parliament since. If you have a question on getting more involved, what it takes to become an MP, or to hear what they have been doing since they were elected then please do come along!
Jane Stevenson MP, Wolverhampton North East, Wednesday 10th March, 5:00pm
Gagan Mohindra MP, South West Hertfordshire, Wednesday 17th March, 6:00pm
Christian Wakeford MP, Bury South, Tuesday 23rd March, 6:00pm
Email CCA@Conservatives.com to book your place.
Opposition Watch - What Goes On Behind the Opposition Watch Email Address?, Thursday 25th February, 6:00pm
Ever sent in a piece of literature from another party, and wondered what happens next? Well, join us and the Opposition Watch Team at CCHQ for an insightful and engaging walkthrough as we find out about their work, in collating and analysing the campaign literature and activities of other parties. Email CCA@Conservatives.com to book your place.
CCA Local Government Conference 2021, Friday 5th March
This year's CCA Local Government Conference will take place on Friday 5th March. However, due to the current restrictions in place, the Conference will be held virtually.
The Conference will be free to attend, and bookings are now open, with a further registration link being sent in due course to those who have signed up. Please email cca@conservatives.com to book your place. Booking is only available to CCA Members at the moment.
The Conference programme will consist of sessions with Ministers, and those with a focus on local government policy, as well as the CCA AGM.
The Volunteer Recruitathon, Monday 22nd March and Wednesday 24th March, both at 6:00pm
Volunteers are central to every campaign, and so it’s important we know how and where to find them, as well as ensuring that they continue to come back to help. Join CCHQ’s Volunteer Engagement Team for an interactive session to help you in recruiting, engaging, and retaining your volunteers. We are advertising this one early as places are limited to 30 for each session, with priority going to Full and Candidate Members.
