New Councillors Training Day
Friday 28th June 2013 from 10.30am to 3.15pm, CCHQ, London
The New Councillors Training Day will consist of a series of presentations by those with a wide experience of local government and the Conservative Party.
There will be sessions on understanding the Council and your role as a councillor, local government finance, your online presence and Social Action.
The day costs £5, including lunch. To book please return the booking form with your payment.
Priority will be given to councillors elected in May and to by-election winners, but all councillors are welcome to attend.
CCA/LGA Conservative Group Post-Elections Group Leaders Day
Friday 14th June 2013 from 10.30am to 3.00pm, Local Government House, London
The CCA and LGA Conservative Group have set up a meeting between Conservative Group Leaders and Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, and the DCLG Ministers.
This is an opportunity for Group Leaders to raise any questions you may have, to learn more about local government plans for the next year, and to engage with your colleagues.

Public Speaking Course for Councillors

The CCA are pleased to confirm two further sessions of the Public Speaking Course for Councillors in conjunction with the Roe Project to be held at CCHQ.
The Stage I training course looks at how to deliver a presentation, how to make an impact and dealing with difficult questions.
The course costs £80 for the day, including lunch.
If you would like to attend either session please return the relevant booking form for July or October as soon as possible as places are limited.

Social Action Seminar
Wednesday 11th September 2013 from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, CCHQ, London
The CCA is teaming up with the CCHQ Social Action Department and the Candidates’ Department to provide guidance and advice on how to set up a social action project.
This free seminar will also look at joint working between councillors and those on the parliamentary candidates list.

Online Campaigning Day - Training for Trainers
Friday 13th September 2013 from 10.30am to 3.00pm, CCHQ, London
The CCA is holding an online campaigning training session with the aim of providing practical online training for those with elections in May 2014. This will enable Conservative candidates and councillors to have an important online presence ahead of polling day.
The day will look at general online campaigning, editing your own yourcllr.com website and creating a twitter account.
Group Leaders with elections in 2014 are asked to nominate one person from their group to attend, who in turn can then teach the rest of their group ahead of the elections.
The training day costs just £5, including lunch.

Public Health Policy Seminar with Anna Soubry MP
Thursday 19th September 2013 from 11.00am to 1.00pm, CCHQ, London
Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health, Anna Soubry MP, will be briefing Conservative Health Portfolio Holders on their new responsibilities, discussing future plans, and also providing CCA members with an excellent opportunity to ask questions on this important issue. It will also give you the chance to provide feedback.
The seminar is open to those in control and opposition but please note that places are limited to one per group. If the Health lead is unable to attend then the Group Leader/Deputy is welcome to attend in their place.
